1 MILLION AGRI WORKERS TO BE HIRED FOR FOOD PRODUCTION INITIATIVES

A total of one million workers will be hired to sustain food production, part of a centerpiece program of the Department of Agriculture to  “revive and reboot” the agriculture sector and push economic growth targets.

Each beneficiary will get P15,000 under the plan and will be distributed from all regions in the country as a way to raise employment levels, increase economic activity and ensure stable food supply during the Covid 19 pandemic.

The fund will come from the DA’s program dubbed Cash for Work Program that entails empowering the agriculture and fishery sectors.

Total outlay for the program meant to sustain food production is P15 billion which will be sourced from the DA budget. #coronavirusimpact #COVID19PH
