This major milestone marks a significant step in ABS-CBN's strategic pivot towards a more cost-effective and scalable content distribution model, leveraging advanced technology to ensure seamless content delivery to a broader audience.

Through this collaboration, Amagi has provided ABS-CBN with an end-to-end delivery solution that covers content ingest, playout, and distribution.

Previously reliant on satellite-based delivery, ABS-CBN has now embraced Amagi’s cloud-native platform to transition to IP-based delivery, offering enhanced reliability, scalability, and significant cost savings.

The shift away from satellite uplinks to IP-based streams reduces infrastructure maintenance costs and operational expenses while also simplifying workflows and improving efficiency.

Jun del Rosario, Chief Operating Officer of ABS-CBN Global, lauded the partnership with Amagi.

He noted, “Amagi's cloud-based IP delivery solution has played a critical role in enabling ABS-CBN to transition to a more cost-effective and scalable content distribution model across the APAC region. The enhanced reliability and streamlined workflow processes have significantly improved our operational efficiency and allowed us to reach a wider audience.”

Amagi's co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer, Srinivasan KA, expressed enthusiasm over the collaboration, emphasizing that it underscores Amagi’s commitment to providing innovative, cloud-native solutions to global media companies.

He added, “We are proud of this achievement and excited to continue supporting ABS-CBN in its journey to deliver high-quality content to a broader audience.”

This partnership is part of ABS-CBN’s broader digital transformation efforts, as the company continues to focus on expanding its global digital footprint.

Despite the non-renewal of its broadcast franchise in 2020, ABS-CBN remains a dominant force in the digital space, with its content widely available across various platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and its own OTT platform, iWantTFC.

This collaboration with Amagi reinforces ABS-CBN’s commitment to evolving with new technologies, ensuring that its iconic content continues to reach audiences worldwide.

Amagi’s proven cloud-based platform powers over 5,000 channels and serves some of the world’s biggest media brands, including NBCUniversal, DAZN, and Lionsgate Studio. This latest collaboration with ABS-CBN positions both companies for continued growth in the rapidly evolving media landscape.
