Anthropic's confidential IPO prospectus has revealed plans for about $518 billion in future infrastructure commitments as the artificial intelligence company prepares for a potential public offering.

The figure represents the company's planned spending commitments for computing and infrastructure over the next decade.

Reuters reported that Anthropic's prospectus shows the company has made one of the largest infrastructure commitments disclosed by a technology company.

Anthropic's infrastructure commitments are spread across multiple partners as the company seeks the computing capacity needed to train and operate increasingly powerful AI models.

The scale of the planned spending comes as Anthropic rapidly expands its business.

The company generated nearly $4.6 billion in revenue in 2025, according to Reuters, but also reported a substantial net loss.

More than half of its $12.65 billion in operating spending was devoted to computing and infrastructure. The IPO filing has also highlighted the financial risks associated with the company's rapid expansion.

Anthropic's prospectus disclosed a $42 billion net loss, including a $34 billion accounting charge related to financial instruments that could potentially convert into shares.

The timing of an eventual public offering remains uncertain.

Reuters reported that the listing appeared likely to occur after the 2026 US elections rather than immediately.

Anthropic's infrastructure commitments demonstrate both the enormous cost of developing advanced AI systems and the financial risks involved in building computing capacity ahead of expected future demand.
