Apple CEO Tim Cook said that new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on imported supplies would cost Apple an additional $900 million in the June quarter, assuming no further escalation.

The company experienced only a "limited impact" from the tariffs in the March quarter, Verne Kopytoff reported for Fortune Tech.
Cook declined to provide a longer-term cost estimate, calling the situation “fluid,” but noted Apple is responding with deliberate planning. Investors remained wary—Apple’s stock fell 4% in after-hours trading to $204.94.
On an earnings call, Cook outlined Apple’s strategy to mitigate the tariff impact, which includes shifting key product imports like iPhones to India, where the company has rapidly expanded its manufacturing base.
“Nearly all” other devices imported into the U.S.—including Macs and iPads—will come from Vietnam, where tariff rates are also lower.
