Apple plans to spend $500 billion (€477.50 billion) in the U.S. over the next four years, bolstering domestic production as more tariffs loom.

Houston, Texas, Nevada, California, and Arizona, will receive further investment.

The company also announced that it would hire 20,000 new workers in the U.S. as part of an initiative to strengthen its domestic operations, Eleanor Butler reported for Euronews. The tech giant stated that it would open a new manufacturing plant in Houston, Texas, by 2026 and establish a supplier academy in Michigan.

Other states, including Nevada, California, and Arizona, will also receive further investment as part of the total $500 billion (€477.5 billion) funding package.

“We are bullish on the future of American innovation, and we’re proud to build on our long-standing U.S. investments,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement.

“We’ll keep working with people and companies across the country to help write an extraordinary new chapter in the history of American innovation.”

Apple also announced that the U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Fund, which has supported glass production for iPhones in Kentucky, would be doubled from $5 billion to $10 billion.
