The lawsuit targets Grace Ocean Pte. Ltd., the owner, and Synergy Marine Pte. Ltd., the manager, of the Dali, a 213-million-pound vessel carrying cargo containers.

Attorneys representing Baltimore's mayor and City Council alleged that both companies supplied the ship with an "incompetent crew" lacking proper skill and training. The claim, obtained by CNN, seeks unspecified damages from both entities.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 26 when the bridge, a crucial economic artery serving 30,000 Marylanders daily, collapsed after being struck by the Dali, which had lost power and deviated from its course.

According to the claim, the collision resulted in the immediate collapse of the bridge, claiming at least six lives, causing extensive property damage in Baltimore, and disrupting the region's primary economic activities.

The lawsuit further asserts that the Dali departed from port despite indications of an inconsistent power supply.
