Brazil’s First Lady, Janja Lula da Silva, caused a stir during a G20 event over the weekend when she swore at billionaire Elon Musk while addressing the need for stronger social media regulation to combat misinformation. Reuters reported.

As she spoke Saturday, a ship’s horn interrupted her, prompting her to quip, “I think it’s Elon Musk.”
She then added, “I’m not afraid of you, f**k you, Elon Musk.” Musk, owner of social platform X, responded on the platform with a laughing emoji, later commenting, “They are going to lose the next election,” referring to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s administration.
The first lady’s remarks were made at an event ahead of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, where global leaders are meeting Monday and Tuesday.

X resumed operations last month after reversing its stance and adhering to legal requirements.
The incident is part of a broader debate between Musk’s advocacy for free speech and governmental efforts worldwide to regulate online content. President Lula da Silva has previously stated that businesses in Brazil must respect local laws, adding that “the world is not obliged to tolerate Musk’s far-right ideology just because he is wealthy.”
