BUREAU OF INTERNAL REVENUE COLLECTIONS DOWN BY A FOURTH

Collections of the Bureau of Internal Revenue for the January to April period declined by a fourth compared to its year ago level as the effects of the ECQ took its toll on the economy

The BIR collected P527.4 billion from January to April, down 25.4 % or P179.3 billion. Much of the decline was attributed to the April collections which was 69 % lower than that of April last year.

April collections amounted only to P71.78 billion compared to the April last year’s revenues of P237.93 billion.

The BIR accounts for 78 percent of the government’s tax collection capacity. #coronavirusimpact #COVID19PH
