Cartier, the luxury jewelry house owned by Richemont, has disclosed that its website was hacked and some client data were compromised, John Revill reported for Reuters.

The company informed clients that “an unauthorized party gained temporary access to our system.” The breach is the latest in a string of cyberattacks affecting major retailers, including Marks & Spencer and Victoria’s Secret.
Cartier said the compromised data included “limited client information,” such as names, email addresses, and countries.
The company emphasized that no passwords, credit card details, or banking information were accessed.
Cartier added that it has since contained the issue, enhanced security measures, notified relevant authorities, and is working with leading external cybersecurity experts.
“This breach shows that no brand is safe from cybercrime,” said Julius Cerniauskas, CEO of web intelligence firm Oxylabs.
