Cebu Pacific Passenger Numbers Surge 33.4% To 2.6 Million In January

Cebu Pacific (CEB) has reported a significant increase in passenger traffic, carrying 2.6 million passengers in January 2025—a strong 33.4% growth compared to January 2024.

The airline’s seat load factor (SLF) improved to 86.5%, up from 85.1% in the previous year, while seat capacity expanded by 31.2%. Domestic Passenger GrowthDomestic passenger traffic saw a 34.6% year-over-year increase, supported by a 37.0% rise in seat capacity, with an SLF of 87.0%.
The surge in traffic was driven by strong demand around the New Year holiday period, as well as additional flight frequencies and new routes introduced throughout 2024.
CEB’s domestic network has expanded to 84 routes, up from 68 the previous year, operating 2,912 weekly flights—a 29% increase from 2,260 weekly flights in the same period last year.
International Passenger GrowthInternational passenger traffic grew by 29.9% year over year, with seat capacity rising 17.0%, leading to an 8.4 percentage point increase in SLF to 85.1%.
CEB’s international network now includes 40 routes, up from 36 in the prior year, with 648 weekly flights—a 16% increase from 561 weekly flights in the same period last year.
Strategic Expansion and Outlook“January traffic saw strong passenger demand, fueled by holiday travel and our continued network and capacity expansion over the past year," said Alexander Lao, President and Chief Commercial Officer of Cebu Pacific.
