China has donated a total of 3,075,000 kilos of rice to the Philippines which were delivered in three batches to the Ports of Manila, Cagayan de Oro and Cebu.

The rice donations formed part of the food packs that the government gave as food assistance to 500,000 Filipino families. The donations, coursed through the Embassy of China in the Philippines, was received by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

According to the embassy another rice donation is under way as strong support of China to the government program to help the Filipino families most affected by the Covid 19 pandemic.

And to further cement the relations between the two countries, the embassy said that China is allocating another 6,725,000 kilos of rice for the country.

The embassy thanked the government agencies in seeing to it that the donation of rice complete the relevant customs clearances and other regulations for the delivery of the rice to the DSWD.
