China's dominance in the global clean energy sector continues to grow. Buoyed by soaring energy demand driven by the artificial intelligence (AI) boom, clean energy projects are being approved at a rapid pace, Haley Zaremba reported for Oilprice.com.

Those projects depend heavily on affordable Chinese-made clean energy components, as Beijing controls much of the global supply chain for technologies such as solar panels, lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles, and energy storage systems.
As a result, Chinese clean energy exports are expanding rapidly across the globe, from developing countries to advanced economies.
Despite the Trump administration's efforts to prioritize domestic energy production, customs data from last month show that China's clean energy exports to the United States continue to increase.
Exports of photovoltaic cells used in solar panels surged 346 percent year on year to US$39.96 million, while lithium-ion battery exports rose 20.8 percent to US$780 million.
Exports of lead-acid batteries also climbed 151 percent to US$6.72 million, according to figures cited by the South China Morning Post. A recent report by Semafor said the trend reflects several factors, including improved US-China diplomatic relations, growing demand from hyperscale data centers, and the impact of the Iran conflict.
