Chubu Electric Data Fraud Undermines Japan’s Nuclear Energy Policy

Chubu Electric Power’s falsification of earthquake-risk data at its Hamaoka nuclear power plant has cast doubt on Japan’s nuclear energy policy, Japan Times reported.

Shinsuke Yamanaka, chief of the Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA), said the safety review of the plant’s Nos. 3 and 4 reactors will have to “go back to square one.”
