CNN Supercut Shows How Putin Played Trump

A CNN segment has highlighted President Donald Trump’s “complete 180” on a Ukraine ceasefire and a “hot mic moment” suggesting Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to “make a deal for Trump,” host Erin Burnett revealed, Elizabeth Preza reported for Alternet.

Burnett discussed Trump’s recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and several European leaders, contrasting it with the “literal red carpet” Trump rolled out for Putin.

She noted Zelensky’s deferential tone toward Trump, saying the Ukrainian leader offered repeated thanks to flatter the U.S. president.

That, Burnett argued, coincided with Trump’s sudden reversal on the need for a ceasefire.

“Before Trump met with Putin last week, he was unequivocal that a ceasefire was exactly what was required,” Burnett said, before playing a clip of Trump affirming that stance.

“Well, that seems to be a complete 180,” she added. Burnett then pointed to the hot mic moment in which Trump was overheard saying, “I think he wants to make a deal for me.” She noted: “He’s saying Putin wants to make a deal for Trump now.”
