Commentator Demands Duterte Impeachment For Losing His Mind
Veteran radio commentator Waldy Carbonnell has called for the impeachment of President Duterte for losing his mind by absolving his illegally appointed consultant on economic affairs of any role in supplying overpriced face masks, face shields, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Photo Insert: Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has been under fire for staunchly defending Health Secretary Francisco Duque despite the latter's name being tied to a myriad of anomalies.
The overpriced items worth P8.7 billion out of the P42-billion funds of the Department of Health (DOH) are allegedly being illegally controlled by undersecretary Lloyd Christopher Lao, a gofer of Duterte’s long-term butler Sen. Bong Go.
Carbonnell slammed Duterte for lawyering for Yang and for justifying the overprice, arguing that Lao continues to exercise the role of a one-man office Department of General Services (DGS), once headed by Duterte father, Vicente Duterte Sr.
He said the findings of the 2020 COA report about the overprice, the absence of any authority for the disbursement, and the failure of Lao to know where Pharmally Pharmaceutical Co. maintains its offices could not be repudiated by Lao himself, who obviously was working under orders of Duterte, Bong Go and Michael Yang.
Duterte now acts as the Pharmally protector, contrary to his sworn duty to protect and defend the Philippine Constitution, which he dumped in July 2016, when the Aquino administration won the case against China for its illegal intrusion into Panatag Shoal, Carbonnell stressed.
He called on all Filipinos to support his call for the impeachment of Duterte, who apparently has lost sanity. Among the indications that he is committed to a perverse reality is his belief that the vice president has “full immunity” and that his winning will prevent his arrest for the murders of more than 30,000 people under his illegal and unjust drug war, Carbonnell argued.
Carbonnell said it was contemptible for Duterte to apologize for the deaths of four Chinese nationals who fought anti-drug agents in Candelaria, Zambales who brought in P3.4-billion worth of shabu. Duterte is president for the Chinese, not for Filipinos, he concluded.
