The union representing thousands of striking Boeing workers says that its members have overwhelmingly rejected the aviation giant’s latest pay offer.

Boeing called its proposal the "best and final" offer, which included reinstating a performance bonus, improving retirement benefits, and doubling a signing bonus to $6,000 (£4,470). I Photo: The Boeing Company Facebook

"Many comments expressed that the offer was inadequate," the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) said in a post on X (formerly Twitter), Peter Hoskins reported for BBC News.

This follows Boeing’s revised offer earlier this week, which proposed a 30% pay raise over four years.

"The survey results from yesterday were overwhelmingly clear, almost as loud as the first offer: members are not interested in the company's latest offer that was sent through the media," IAM stated in the post.

Boeing called its proposal the "best and final" offer, which included reinstating a performance bonus, improving retirement benefits, and doubling a signing bonus to $6,000 (£4,470).

However, the offer is contingent on being ratified by union members by midnight Pacific time on Friday, Sept. 27 (7:00 GMT Saturday, Sept. 28, or 3 p.m. Manila time).
