President Donald Trump has moved to ease growing tensions within his political base by defending Attorney General Pam Bondi and dismissing renewed scrutiny over the handling of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, Dallas Express Media reported via Justin DeSales.

Trump recently took to social media to voice support for Bondi, writing that she is “doing a FANTASTIC JOB!” In the same post, he claimed that the controversial Epstein “client list”—which the Department of Justice (DOJ) recently stated does not exist—was fabricated under previous Democratic administrations.

When questioned about the issue last week, Trump lashed out at a reporter and downplayed the matter, saying, “And are people still talking about this guy, this creep? That is unbelievable.”

However, that statement appears to contradict Bondi’s own remarks from earlier this year, in which she claimed to have the list on her desk.

“It’s sitting on my desk right now to review. That’s been a directive by President Trump,” Bondi said in February. She has since walked back that statement, clarifying that she was referring more broadly to reviewing Epstein-related files.
