The Trump administration was reportedly preparing for a potential new round of military strikes against Iran, according to sources familiar with the planning, even as diplomatic channels remained active.

No final decision had been made, however, James LaPorta reported for CBS News.
The president said on social media that “circumstances pertaining to government” were preventing him from attending his son Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding over the weekend.
He had previously planned to spend the Memorial Day weekend at his golf property in New Jersey but instead returned to the White House.
Some U.S. military and intelligence personnel reportedly canceled holiday plans amid expectations of possible strikes. Officials also began reviewing deployment and recall schedules for forces in the Middle East.
The U.S. and Iran have largely refrained from direct strikes since a temporary truce in early April, allowing indirect negotiations to continue. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that further attacks could escalate the conflict beyond the region.
