The index moved between an intraday high of 6,143.77 and a low of 6,104.85, reflecting continued volatility as investors remained selective in their trades.

Market favorite International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) closed at ₱975, up 1.88 percent, after reaching a high of ₱984 and a low of ₱956. Its traded value was about ₱1.64 billion, making it one of the market's most actively traded stocks.

The sectoral indices closed mixed. Services gained 1.59 percent, mining and oil rose 0.55 percent, and industrials advanced 0.05 percent.

Financials declined 0.12 percent, holding firms fell 1.29 percent, and property dropped 0.82 percent.

Ayala Land Inc. provided a volatile backdrop to the session, reaching an intraday high of ₱15.06 before falling to ₱14.74 at the close, a decline of 1.34 percent.

SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SMPH) fell 1.63 percent to ₱18.10, after trading as high as ₱18.36.

Globe Telecom Inc. and PLDT Inc. posted gains, while DigiPlus Interactive Corp., Ayala Corp. and BDO Unibank Inc. declined.

The broader All Shares index rose 1.28 points, or 0.04 percent, to 3,385.85.

Trading value reached approximately ₱5.9 billion, with nearly 940 million shares changing hands. Market breadth remained negative, with 106 losers, 88 gainers and 55 unchanged issues.

The peso also recovered against the US dollar, closing at ₱62.513, compared with ₱62.625 on Tuesday.

The improvement in the peso, along with bargain-hunting and selective buying of heavyweight stocks, provided some support to the local market. Despite the continuing geopolitical and economic uncertainties, the PSEi has remained relatively resilient, although the index is still below its 2026 peak.
