CrowdStrike (NASDAQ: CRWD) has introduced a “Kill Switch” feature designed to stop artificial intelligence (AI) agents that behave outside their intended parameters, as the cybersecurity company announced agreements to acquire two AI security startups for a combined purchase price of approximately $495 million, Ines Ferre reported for Yahoo Finance .

The new feature, introduced through CrowdStrike's Falcon Guardian platform, gives security teams greater control over AI agents operating within enterprise environments.

If an agent deviates from its intended behavior, security personnel can terminate its activity, prevent it from launching again and cut off its access to the enterprise network.

“AI safety is how you get the full benefit of AI. When you deploy agents with a kill switch, you stay in control,” CrowdStrike CEO and founder George Kurtz said in a company announcement.

CrowdStrike also announced definitive agreements to acquire Fiddler AI and Dreadnode, two companies specializing in different aspects of AI security.

Fiddler develops AI observability and explainability tools that help businesses monitor AI systems, evaluate their behavior and understand their decisions.

Dreadnode specializes in security testing designed to identify vulnerabilities in AI models, applications and agents.

According to The Wall Street Journal, CrowdStrike agreed to pay approximately $400 million for Fiddler AI and $95 million for Dreadnode, bringing the combined transaction value to about $495 million.

The acquisitions are intended to strengthen CrowdStrike's ability to secure AI systems throughout their deployment and operation, as companies increasingly introduce autonomous agents into business environments.
