U.S. stock futures rose overnight Sunday as investors regrouped after a losing week marked by weakness in AI-focused stocks and surprise tariff announcements from President Donald Trump, Rian Howlett reported for Yahoo Finance.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added 0.3%, S&P 500 futures gained 0.4%, and Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 0.5%.
Last week, all three benchmarks slipped: the S&P 500 fell 0.3% in its worst week since early August, the Nasdaq dropped 0.7%, and the Dow lost 0.2%, snapping a three-week rally.
Uncertainty looms over a possible government shutdown this week, with funding set to lapse Wednesday.
Trump and congressional leaders are scheduled to meet Monday in a last-ditch effort to strike a deal.
Despite last week’s pullback, stocks remain on pace to end September and the third quarter higher: the S&P 500 is up 2.8% month-to-date, the Dow 1.5%, and the Nasdaq 2.9%.
