Both Emirates and flydubai stated that operations were back to normal on Saturday, although a backlog of passengers remained.
Despite this, the boss of Emirates acknowledged that the airline's response was not flawless. The storm struck the UAE on Tuesday, leading to flash floods and disrupting travel through the airport.
Priority is being given to passengers whose travel plans were previously disrupted. Due to a flooded taxiway, planes were unable to reach the runway for takeoff, leaving passengers stranded in the terminal building at Dubai International Airport.
Sir Tim Clark, the president of Emirates, assured, "Passengers previously stranded in the airport transit area have been rebooked and are en route to their destinations."
