FBI FILES CHARGES VS 13 ATTACKERS OF U.S. CAPITOL

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has filed criminal charges before a federal court against 13 people who attacked the US Capitol on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in Washington, D.C.

In an official statement, FBI said 40 others have been charged before a Superior Court for destroying windows, ransacking offices, stealing laptops, defecating in some offices and ruining precious art work in Congress.


“The lawless destruction of the US Capitol building was an attack against one of our Nation’s greatest institutions,” said Acting US Attorney Michael Sherwin.


“My Office, along with our law enforcement partners at all levels, have been expeditiously working and leveraging every resource to identify, arrest, and begin prosecuting these individuals who took part in the brazen criminal acts at the US Capitol. We are resolute in our commitment to holding accountable anyone responsible for these disgraceful criminal acts, and to anyone who might be considering engaging in or inciting violence in the coming weeks – know this: you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”


Thirteen individuals have been charged with federal crimes. The defendants are: Cleveland Meredith; Richard Barnett; Lonnie Coffman; Mark Leffingwell; Christopher Alberts; Joshua Pruitt; Matthew Council; Cindy Fitchett; Michael Curzio; Douglas Sweet; Bradley Ruskelas; Terry Brown, and; Thomas Gallagher.
