Since the January 1, 2024 disaster, Iwahana has made monthly visits, traveling 800 kilometers in his food truck to distribute 10,000 cups of coffee.

Since the January 1, 2024 disaster, Iwahana has made monthly visits, traveling 800 kilometers in his food truck to distribute 10,000 cups of coffee. Inspired by support he received after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, Iwahana sees his efforts as a gesture of gratitude.

Residents in Ishikawa Prefecture's city of Nanao expressed heartfelt appreciation for Iwahana's visits, which have brought warmth and comfort during harsh winter months.

“It feels like he’s saying, ‘I won’t abandon you,’” said one resident, adding that his presence and kindness bring solace amid ongoing hardships.
