Forbes 400 Includes 62 Women As Kennedy Center And Measles Developments Continue

There are 62 women on the 2026 Forbes 400 list, the same number as in 2025, even as the minimum net worth required to make the list rose to a record $4.4 billion.

The 62 women have a combined estimated net worth of $954 billion, up from $872 billion last year, according to Forbes.

Anthropic President Daniela Amodei, 39, is the richest woman to join the Forbes 400 this year, with an estimated fortune of $15.5 billion. Forbes said she is the second-richest self-made woman in the United States.

Separately, a federal judge ordered the Kennedy Center to provide more than 30 days' written notice before making major changes to the scope of its project plans, including any possible demolition of the main building.

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper also ordered the center to submit a detailed status report, supported by a sworn declaration from a knowledgeable representative, concerning its temporary closure and emergency repairs.

The Kennedy Center has cited safety concerns and structural deterioration in connection with its temporary closure.

The judge's order does not authorize or require demolition; it establishes notice and reporting requirements concerning potential changes to the project's scope.

Meanwhile, Pennsylvania's measles outbreak has continued to grow. The state Department of Health reported 767 cases in 38 counties and 150 hospitalizations in its Sept. 18 update, along with four confirmed measles-associated deaths.

The department said it began the formal process of requesting an epidemiological assistance team from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Sept. 16.

Pennsylvania had reported 731 cases and 141 hospitalizations in its Sept. 16 update, meaning those figures had already increased by Sept. 18.
