The deal values the operator, AGS Airports, at £1.53 billion ($1.84 billion), according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
AGS Airports manages Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Southampton airports, which collectively serve over 10.8 million passengers annually. Ferrovial and Macquarie each own 50% of AGS, and the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025.
The exact proceeds each seller will receive will be determined after the sale is finalized, Ferrovial stated.
Ferrovial, a global leader in transport infrastructure, operates a diverse portfolio of assets, including airport interests in Turkey and New York. In June, the company sold a majority stake in London’s Heathrow Airport to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and French private equity group Ardian.
