The global semiconductor market is projected to grow by 89.9% in 2026, reaching a record $1.51 trillion, driven largely by expanding demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure, according to Kyodo News reporting.

The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics organization significantly revised its earlier forecast of 26.3% growth, citing stronger-than-expected expansion in data center construction and AI-related chip demand.
Memory chips are expected to see particularly strong growth, with projections rising to $803.94 billion.
Logic semiconductors, used in computing and processing devices, are also forecast to grow substantially. Regional forecasts suggest the Americas will see the fastest growth rate, followed by Asia-Pacific markets.
