Globe Telecom has bared that Cavite accounted for the most number of permits issued for cell site towers at 30 among the provinces while Manila topped the cities with 12 out of the 252 that local government units approved for the last quarter of the year.

The telco has been ramping up its cell site tower constructions which benefitted from President Duterte’s order for faster permitting process that used to take eight months to get just for the go-ahead signal from LGUs alone.
The provinces of Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, Isabela, South Cotabato, Pangasinan, Misamis Oriental and Bataan gave the most permits among the provinces while Manila, Mandaluyong and Paranaque topped the cities for October.
“We are always grateful for the support of these LGUs that recognize our network expansion efforts because at the end of the day, their constituents will be the main beneficiaries of better connectivity and wider coverage,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.
Batangas issued 20 permits while Laguna added 19 more. Rizal, Bulacan, Isabela, South Cotabato, Pangasinan, Misamis Occidental, Bataan and Cagayan granted at least five permits or more.
Mandaluyong okayed 10 permits and Paranaque six.
Overall, Globe gained at least one permit in 27 provinces and 25 cities to include South Cotabato, Misamis Occidental, Guimaras, Antique, Agusan del Sur, Abra, Daangbantayan and Minglanilla in Cebu to mention a few.
The company has laid out a 3-pronged strategy for its network upgrades and expansion, which includes aggressive cell site builds; upgrading its cell sites to 4G/LTE using many different frequencies; and fast tracking the fiberization of Filipino homes nationwide.
Globe said it supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically UNSDG No. 9 which emphasizes the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development. Globe is committed to upholding the 10 United Nations Global Compact principles and 10 UN SDGs.
