A group of Republicans viscerally opposed to President Trump has aired an ad on Fox News, an outlet that employs the shadow advisers of the former reality TV star-turned President, which accused him of a series of maneuvers they equate to a legal shell game to avoid being held accountable.

Writing for Huffpost on May 14, Ed Mazza said the new ad follows “Mourning in America,” a play on the message of the late US President Ronald Reagan, that caused Trump to engage in another Twitter rampage, blasting Fil-American lawyer George Conway, husband of Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway, and condemning the GOP faction as a bunch of “moonfaced losers.”

In the ad, the GOP group that also includes Rick Wilson, who wrote the book “Everything Trump Touches Dies,” and Tara Setmeyer, a frequent CNN analyst, said: “Our nation’s founders fought a war to get rid of a king,” the spot begins. “So when they wrote our Constitution, they designed a government in which everybody ― even the president ― must obey the law.”

“That led to the creation of checks and balances between the branches, the spot from Republicans for the Rule of Law notes. But Trump is telling Congress it has to go to court to obtain documents and then telling the courts they can’t weigh in because he’s accountable to Congress,” Mazza wrote. “That’s not how it’s supposed to work in America,” the spot warns. “No one is above the law, and no one gets special treatment.” For Trump, who is suspected to suffer from aphasia, the quote must be “No is above the loo.”
