Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport has achieved a significant milestone by breaking its record for daily international visitors in the week following the Lunar New Year holiday, as reported by Vietnam News.

To accommodate the rising influx of travelers, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam has initiated a project to expand the T2 terminal at Noi Bai Airport.

Specifically, the number of international visitors saw a substantial uptick of 14%, reaching an average of 36,000 visitors per day. This figure exceeded the previous record set during the Tet holiday in 2019 by approximately 2,000 visitors.

The Civil Aviation Authority noted a significant increase in passenger traffic on international routes operated by domestic airlines during the seven-day Tet holiday period from Feb. 8-14.

Passenger numbers surged by 49% compared to the same period last year, highlighting the growing demand for air travel in the region.

To accommodate the rising influx of travelers, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam has initiated a project to expand the T2 terminal at Noi Bai Airport. The expansion aims to increase the terminal's capacity from 10 million to 15 million visitors annually and is scheduled for completion by 2026.
