Harris Raises $46.7-M In 7 Hours After Biden’s Endorsement

Small donors contributed a whopping $46.7 million to Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign in the seven hours since President Joe Biden shocked the world by announcing he would not be standing in the 2024 election, Paul Farrell reported for the Daily Mail.

The figures, announced by the Democratic Party's fundraising arm, ActBlue, mean that Harris, 59, has broken the record for the most money raised during this election cycle. “This has been the biggest fundraising day of the 2024 cycle. Small-dollar donors are fired up and ready to take on this election,” the group said in a post on X.

In addition to the money raised in the hours after Biden's decision, the Wall Street Journal reports that Harris will also have access to the money raised by the Biden/Harris 2024 campaign, close to $100 million.

David Artavia of Yahoo News reported that ActBlue raised more than $27.5 million in the first five hours of Biden endorsing Harris. ActBlue said, "Grassroots supporters are energized and excited to support her as the Democratic nominee," in a post on X.
