The deal was negotiated between the Directors Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers after four weeks of talks.

The negotiations were the first conducted under DGA President Christopher Nolan, who assumed the role in September.

The agreement still requires approval from the guild’s national board and membership before taking effect. Specific terms have not yet been disclosed.

Industry observers say the deal increases the likelihood of labor stability following recent agreements involving actors and writers.
