Protests are taking place in Minneapolis after an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good as she tried to leave after another agent attempted to pull her out of her car, video footage taken by enraged neighbors and carried by various news outlets showed, BBC News reported.

Immediately, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who was not on the scene, claimed that Good was “stalking and impeding” officers and tried to “weaponize her vehicle.”

Even Donald Trump, who was thousands of miles away, insisted that Good tried to run down the ICE agent, who fired at her three times, while other agents prevented a physician from coming to the victim’s aid. Both Noem and Trump were apparently shown doctored videos.

Worse, Vice President JD Vance claimed that Good was a “deranged leftist,” which she was not, according to her former husband, neighbors, and the victim’s mother.

The Minneapolis City Council, however, said Good was simply “caring for her neighbors” when she was shot and killed at around 10:25 a.m. local time on Wednesday.

Mayor Jacob Frey used an expletive to urge ICE agents to leave, while Governor Tim Walz said he is mobilizing the National Guard to protect Minnesotans from violent forces.

Noem said ICE operations in Minneapolis will continue, and the FBI is investigating.

The shooting came after Trump accused Walz of plotting the murders of a Democratic state lawmaker and her husband, prompting their children to demand that Trump apologize, take down a malicious video, and stop peddling conspiracy theories, Al Jazeera, Agence France-Presse (AFP), the Associated Press (AP), and Reuters also reported.
