After deploying the National Guard to Washington, D.C., President Donald Trump suggested he might send them to Chicago next — while mocking Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s weight.

Trump claimed Chicago residents were “screaming” for federal troops, saying, “They’re wearing red hats just like this one… African American ladies, beautiful ladies, are saying, ‘Please, President Trump, come to Chicago. Please,’” Matt Stopera reported for BuzzFeed.
Pritzker fired back: “If you hurt my people, nothing will stop me — not time or political circumstance — from making sure you face justice under our constitutional rule of law.”
Addressing Trump’s jab that he “ought to spend more time in the gym,” Pritzker quipped: “From my perspective, it takes one to know one on the weight question. And the president, of course, himself is not in good shape.”
He added: “His personal attacks on me are just evidence of a guy still living in fifth grade. He’s the kind of bully that throws invectives at people because he knows what he’s saying is actually commentary on himself.”
Social media lit up with praise for Pritzker’s clapback. “Trump is a schoolyard bully — small, petty, and not too bright,” one user wrote.
Another said, “My governor is so, so good at going for the jugular with class.” Others compared him to California Gov. Gavin Newsom, saying both Democratic leaders are “living in Trump’s head rent-free.”
