Iran Says U.S. Airstrikes Killed More Than 30 Civilians, Injured at Least 260

More than 30 people were killed and at least 260 others were injured in the latest overnight U.S. airstrikes on Iran, according to Iranian officials cited by CBS News, Reuters, and The Associated Press (AP).

Hossein Kermanpour, a spokesperson for Iran's Health Ministry, said the attacks resulted in hundreds of casualties. In a separate statement, an Iranian government spokesperson said at least 30 people had been killed in "recent days," although no specific timeframe was provided.

Meanwhile, tensions escalated across the region as Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait reported attacks originating from Iran.

The Kuwaiti military said early Wednesday it was responding to "hostile drone attacks" from Iran after announcing that it had intercepted dozens of drones and missiles and reported an Iranian strike on a Kuwaiti warship.

Bahrain activated its emergency warning sirens, while Jordan's military said it shot down three Iranian missiles.
