President Donald Trump’s military campaign against Iran may have unintentionally accelerated the global transition toward renewable energy, according to an analyst cited by Raw Story.

Columnist Sabrina Haake argued in a Substack post that the prolonged conflict and resulting oil supply disruptions have intensified efforts by countries to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and strengthen energy security through renewable alternatives.
“With Trump’s Iran war now in its third month, countries are scrambling to circumvent the geopolitical tug-of-war by transitioning more quickly to renewables,” Haake wrote.
She argued that governments are increasingly framing renewable energy expansion not only as a climate issue but also as a matter of economic stability and national security amid volatile oil markets.
The article also noted that rising energy prices and instability in the Strait of Hormuz have disrupted global oil supplies, prompting countries to seek alternative energy strategies.
