BusinessInsider, Decision Desk HQ, The Times of London and Vox have all called the US election for Democrat Joe Biden after they confirmed that he had flipped Pennsylvania, winning its 20 electoral votes.

With the 20 Electoral College votes, Biden amassed 253 votes to Republican Donald Trump’s 214. In the popular vote, as of 11:09:55 a.m. of Saturday, November 7, 2020, Biden amassed 74,816,254 votes or 50% while Trump garnered only 70,624,422 votes or 48%.

Decision Desk HQ said Biden surpassed 270 electoral votes by flipping the battleground state of Pennsylvania even as he still leads in Georgia, Nevada and Arizona. Earlier, Fox News and the Associated Press (AP) called the race in the state for Biden. In neighboring Nevada, Biden is also leading. Why did Decision Desk HQ and Insider call the election for Joe Biden before so many other outlets? "Because the data led us there," said Drew McCoy, the president of Decision Desk HQ.

Biden’s victory represents a rebuke of Trump's tumultuous and divisive presidency by the US electorate. Kamala Harris makes history as the first female, Black, and Asian American vice president-elect. Harris is no stranger to making history. She is the second Black female senator and was California's first female and Black attorney general.
