Hakeem Jeffries sharply criticized Karoline Leavitt, calling her a “disgrace” and a “stone-cold liar” after she blamed Democrats for a shooting incident tied to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Gerren Keith Gaynor reported for TheGrio.

Leavitt, speaking during a White House press briefing, accused Democrats of using rhetoric that portrays Donald Trump as a threat to democracy, arguing that such language could incite violence.
“These are despicable statements that the American people have been consuming for years,” she said, referring to criticism of Trump.
Jeffries rejected the claims, saying the administration had taken comments out of context while failing to address extremist rhetoric from Trump supporters. He also referenced the January 6 Capitol attack, accusing Republicans of “providing aid and comfort to violent insurrectionists.”
