"Jurassic World Rebirth" Extends Hollywood’s Box Office Run

Jurassic World Rebirth, from Comcast’s Universal Pictures, roared to the top of the global box office, notching the biggest opening of 2025 and continuing a strong summer run for Hollywood.

Since 1993, the Jurassic franchise has generated more than $6.3 billion in global ticket sales, Barron’s Daily’s Janet H. Cho reported.


The newest installment took in $91.5 million over the three-day July 4 holiday weekend, and $147.3 million since its debut, according to Comscore. So far in 2025, domestic box office sales are up 14.7% year-over-year to $4.44 billion.



Warner Bros. Discovery’s A Minecraft Movie remains the highest-grossing film of the year with $423.9 million domestically. F1: The Movie, a co-production by Warner Bros. and Apple Original Films, ranked second in its second weekend with $25 million.


How to Train Your Dragon (DreamWorks/Universal) placed third with $11 million for a cumulative $224 million, while Disney Pixar’s Elio earned $5.7 million for a total of $55.1 million in its third weekend.
