Lexus Introduces LX 600 Flagship SUV

"Good things happen to those who wait," goes the old phrase. After three impressive generations, the wait is over. A brand new LX has arrived.

Completely redesigned from the ground up - inside and out - the new 2022 LX 600 is the latest expression of the flagship sport utility vehicle in the luxury brand's growing and diversified portfolio of models, PR Newswire reported.

The full-size luxury SUV, with its newly redesigned body-on-frame platform, cutting-edge styling, and luxurious cabin, embodies Lexus' commitment to meet the diverse needs and lifestyles of customers. It is scheduled to reach dealerships in the United States in the first quarter of 2022.

Since its launch in 1995, the LX has been a luxury SUV icon defined by an identity characterized by indomitable duality. Its comfortable ride quality and a long list of features have defined it as a luxurious long-range cruiser, but its tried and tested specifications and off-road equipment have taken it beyond the pavement in more than 50 countries and regions around the world. Taking August 2021 as a reference, more than 500,000 LX models have been sold worldwide.

In its fourth generation, the LX offers unmatched refinement thanks to the total optimization of almost all its components. It uses a new 20% stiffer GA-F platform that serves as a solid foundation for its body-on-frame structure. Weight is reduced by 441 pounds compared to its predecessor, and it also increases body stiffness.

The LX's boost comes from a 3.5-liter, high-performance, high-torque twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine. The most refined control of the vehicle both on and off the road is the product of the new Electronically Controlled Braking (ECB) system and Electric Power Steering (EPS).

Beyond the aluminum doors on the LX, there is an all-new cab designed for maximum comfort and ease of use. The instrument panel features the Lexus Interface system with Lexus' first dual-display configuration. The 12.3-inch upper display and 7-inch lower display help create a more comfortable driving experience with a variety of views, instrumentation, and control settings.

The exterior design of the LX seeks a blend of athletic performance, accessible functionality, and striking beauty; a combination that started with the new NX. Optimized proportions that combine sophistication with power and presence are key elements of the LX's design.

Addressing a wide variety of customers and diverse lifestyles is essential to the spirit of the LX. This philosophy has allowed the expansion of the LX range, which adds the new Ultra Luxury and F SPORT versions. The Ultra Luxury offers four independent seats for maximum travel comfort on all types of roads.
