The "Magnificent Seven" group of technology stocks posted its steepest one-day decline since the tariff-driven market sell-off in April 2025, Ines Ferré reported for Yahoo Finance.

The group—which includes Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Alphabet, Nvidia, Tesla, and Meta—lost approximately $797 billion in market capitalization, according to Bloomberg News.
Alphabet and Tesla led the declines, falling 6% and 14%, respectively, following the release of their quarterly earnings reports. Tesla alone shed roughly $200 billion in market value.
Although Alphabet reported strong revenue growth and a growing backlog for its cloud services, investors were unsettled by the company's increased capital spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure.
"You're in a major investment cycle and … people would rather invest in the companies, in the stocks that are receiving the investment dollars, rather than spending the investment dollars," said Mark Mahaney, senior managing director at Evercore ISI.
