Man Sings Christmas Songs for 42 Hours to Break World Record

The owner of a sandwich shop in England attempted to break a Guinness World Record by singing Christmas songs continuously for 42 hours, Ben Hooper reported for United Press International (UPI).

Dave Purchase, also known as “Mr. Toasty,” of the On Toast sandwich shop, closed his store inside Gloucester’s Warehouse 4 to attempt the record for the longest marathon singing Christmas songs.


The previous record of 40 hours was set in 2024 by Confidence Survival Eyong of Nigeria.

Purchase’s repertoire included 38 songs, ranging from traditional classics such as “Jingle Bells” to more modern holiday hits by Mariah Carey and Wham.


He rotated through the songs and finished after singing 684 in total. During the attempt, he was joined at various times by a dementia choir, a children’s choir and local residents dressed for the festive season.
