The Marguerite Casey Foundation plans to donate at least $500 million over the next decade, significantly increasing its annual grantmaking efforts.

Foundation leaders said the decision reflects growing concerns over financial strain facing nonprofit organizations and vulnerable communities.
Most private foundations distribute about 5% of their assets annually, the minimum required by the Internal Revenue Service.
The Marguerite Casey Foundation increased giving in 2025 by distributing $130 million, including funds drawn directly from its endowment. Foundation President and CEO Carmen Rojas said the organization believes it can provide greater support while maintaining long-term sustainability.
