This investment marks the single largest commitment Microsoft has made in its 29-year history in the country.

According to a report by Edna Tarigan for the Associated Press (AP) Nadella highlighted the transformative potential of AI technology, stating that it is reshaping how people live and work globally, including in Indonesia.

Microsoft's investment aims to bolster digital infrastructure, provide support for developers, and enhance skills development in Indonesia.

The company's earnings report for the January-March quarter indicated a 20% rise in profit, reflecting its efforts to position itself as a leader in applying AI technology to improve productivity in workplaces.

A study by Kearney, a global consulting firm, suggests that AI could contribute nearly $1 trillion to Southeast Asia's GDP by 2030, with Indonesia expected to capture $366 billion of this total.
