Most Americans doubt that a proposed agreement with Iran would permanently halt Tehran's nuclear ambitions, according to a CBS poll cited by ABC News.

The survey found that 69% of Americans—and 45% of Republicans—believe the agreement would not prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, even if it were finalized.

A separate Fox News poll conducted while negotiations were underway in mid-June produced similar findings, with 64% of registered voters saying a peace agreement was unlikely to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
