MPower, Araneta Group Renew Power Supply Deal for Araneta City Properties

MPower and the Araneta Group have renewed their power supply agreement to ensure reliable energy delivery across the bustling Araneta City properties.

The revitalized partnership now includes the newest addition to the area’s hospitality offerings, the ibis Styles Manila Araneta City.

During the ceremonial signing held recently at the ibis Styles Araneta City, key representatives from both sides were present.

In attendance were MPower Head of Commercial Operations Ray Fabros, MPower Senior Assistant Vice President and Retail Sales Head Eddie John Adug, MPower First Vice President and Head Redel M. Domingo, Novotel and ibis Styles Manila Cluster General Manager Maria Manlulu-Garcia, ACI Inc. Senior Vice President of Operations Antonio Mardo, and ACI Inc. Senior Vice President of Business Development John Castelo.

Marking over a decade of collaboration, MPower, the local retail electricity supplier (LRES) of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has been a trusted partner of the Araneta Group in providing reliable power supply to its properties.

The partnership dates back to June 26, 2013, when MPower began operations and the Araneta Group became one of its pioneer partners.

This renewed agreement not only extends the supply to ACI Inc.’s buildings in Quezon City but also includes Araneta Hotels, further strengthening the alliance between the two companies.

Under the new retail electricity supply agreement, MPower will now power the ibis Styles Manila, the latest hotel to open in the vibrant Araneta City.

Notably, MPower has also been the energy provider for Araneta Hotels Inc. since 2018. Today, most of the Araneta Group’s properties benefit from MPower’s tailored products and services under the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM).

This market mechanism allows businesses with an electricity demand of at least 500 kW to select their own power supplier, ensuring flexibility and efficiency.

Meralco First Vice President and MPower Head Redel M.
