Qatar officially denied gifting President Donald Trump a 13-year-old Boeing 747 jet worth $400 million, contradicting Trump’s claim that he had already accepted the “donation” of the so-called “palace in the sky,” NBC News reported.

The alleged gift has sparked fierce backlash from U.S. officials, including GOP senators and congressmen, who say it violates the Constitution’s Foreign Emoluments Clause.
Conservative voices like the National Review called it a “plane grift,” while right-wing commentator Laura Loomer, rumored to be Trump’s girlfriend, condemned the gift as a stain on his legacy, warning against accepting “a $400 million ‘gift’ from jihadists in suits.”

Legal experts highlight potential constitutional and federal statute violations.
Richard Painter, former White House ethics lawyer, stressed the issue violates emoluments laws without congressional approval. Jessica Levinson, law professor at Loyola Law School, added that accepting the gift could raise apparent conflicts of interest or corruption concerns.
