In addition to providing a device specifically designed for use in driverless cars, the California-based chipmaker said it would also supply Toyota with software capable of managing the operation of such vehicles.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated in a speech, "I'm super, super pleased to announce that today Toyota and Nvidia are going to partner together to create their next generation of AVs."

Huang revealed the plan during his keynote address ahead of the opening of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. In 2017, Nvidia announced that Toyota had adopted its artificial intelligence (AI) technology for self-driving cars intended for future market release.
