The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) has secured ₱379.48 million in funding for the construction of a Modern Warfare Laboratory, with financial support from the Bloomberry Cultural Foundation Inc. (BCFI) as part of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation's (PAGCOR) support for military modernization.

The funding will cover the demolition of the old PMA Station Hospital and the construction of a two-story Modern Warfare Laboratory designed to equip cadets with emerging defense technologies, contemporary military concepts, and operational decision-making skills suited to today's security environment.

Demolition of the old hospital is expected to begin in the coming weeks, while completion of the new facility is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027.

PAGCOR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro H. Tengco, who witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the PMA and BCFI, said the state gaming regulator remains committed to strengthening the capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

"Kung mayroon pong tagubilin ang Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa akin bilang Chairman at CEO ng PAGCOR, ito po ay ang tumulong sa pangangailangan ng Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas. Kaya naman patuloy po nating susuportahan ang iba't ibang programa na magpapalakas sa ating Armed Forces," Tengco said.

Tengco also thanked the Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, led by President Donato Almeda and Chairman Enrique K. Razon Jr., for its continued support of the AFP and the PMA.

For his part, Almeda reaffirmed the foundation's commitment to the military academy.

"Nandito kami para i-commit sa inyo na we will continue to help the Academy in the smallest way we can."

The Modern Warfare Laboratory forms part of PAGCOR's broader nation-building initiatives. Under PAGCOR's regulatory policy, integrated resort licensees are required to establish foundations and allocate a portion of their revenues to programs supporting cultural heritage, education, healthcare, sports development, and other public service initiatives.
