The report was made by Mateusz Rabiega and Rafal W. Nowak for Reuters.

The unit, Ceneo, is demanding compensation for losses it claims to have suffered due to Google’s alleged practice of favoring its own price comparison service in browser results. Ceneo said this behavior caused significant harm to its business.

In an emailed statement, a Google spokesperson said the company disagreed with the lawsuit and was considering its options.

“Our Shopping remedy has been working successfully for several years, and we continue to invest in formats that support brands, retailers, and comparison shopping sites of all sizes across Poland and Europe,” the statement said.

The demanded reimbursement includes 1.72 billion zlotys in losses sustained by Ceneo, along with approximately 615 million zlotys in interest payments dating from 2013 to November 29, 2024.
